Alright friends, because I do worry about toxins in my home, once I learned about the power of Vinegar for cleaning I was hooked!
I use this multi-purpose spray for everything… cleaning counters, glass, tables, showers, grout, toilets, windows (not car windows), fabric, getting rid of unwanted smells, carpets, upholstery, and it even it great for killing bugs/keeping them away!
Now my husband is not a fan of the smell, but I don’t mind it a bit and I promise it goes away! It’s definitely better than getting headaches from strong chemical cleaners.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A Spray bottle – I love these Automatic misters
- White Vinegar – I buy the big jug from Aldi
- Dish Soap – I love the Rosey brand
- Optional: Essential Oils (Lemon, Lavender, or Orange are all great clean scents – here’s a multi-pack)
Now, it’s time to mix everything together.
Here’s what to add:
- 1 part Vinegar
- 1 part Water
- A squirt of dish soap
- 20 or so drops of an essential oil (or two)
And that’s it! Give it a shake and it’s ready to use.
Here are unique ways I use it:
- Smell Neutralizer – spray on rugs, couches, upholstered chairs to remove unwanted smells
- Spot Cleaner – Soak the spot and give it a good scrub with a brush to remove unwanted stains on clothes or upholstery
- Carpet cleaner: Use the solution inside of a carpet cleaning vacuum to wash and get rid of dirt, stains, and smells
- Bug Prevention – spray on the baseboards and near entry ways/windows to keep bugs away
- Bug Killer – spray on any pests that enter your home
*Note: I would not use this on any passenger windows in your car. I believe it can take off the tint/lining so beware. The windshield is okay though.
Hope you enjoy this safe & effective cleaner!
