Okay the weather is in the 70’s today in Charleston, SC, so iced beverages are calling my name. I’ve been a fan of matcha for a few years now, (I thought I was going to give up coffee a while back because I was getting anxious, ha!), and I’ve had my share from different cafes around town, but it’s so easy to make your own and save a few dollars!
What you’ll need:
- Matcha powder – Ceremonial Grade is recommended for drinks, but I have Culinary grade that I purchased on Thrive (check out this healthy membership here), so that’s what I use and it still tastes great.
- Maple Syrup or Honey
- Milk (any variety you like)
- Hot Water (I use my electric kettle) & Ice
Follow the directions below for a perfect cup!

Want to spice it up?
Add some cacao powder with the hot water for a chocolatey matcha or add some turmeric and black pepper for an extra anti-inflammatory boost!
